Introduction
ULINK Technology has released a significant update to the AI model powering DA Drive Analyzer. Tested across approximately 1.7 million storage drives, the updated model improves both failure detection and prediction accuracy, with particularly strong gains for SATA HDDs.
What Has Changed
Higher Failure Detection (Recall)
The updated model delivers an overall increase in recall, with major improvements specifically for SATA Hard Disk Drives. This means fewer failing drives slip through undetected, reducing the risk of unexpected data loss.
Fewer False Alarms (Precision)
Alongside better detection, the new model improves overall precision. Predicted failures are more reliable, which means fewer unnecessary drive replacements and less time spent investigating alerts that turn out to be nothing.
Efficient at the Edge
Like our existing model, the new model is built on a lightweight ensemble architecture that can operate entirely on-device without requiring an active internet connection. This makes it well suited for offline environments, or users for whom sending drive health data outside the device is not an option.
What This Means in Practice
Better recall means more failing drives caught before they fail. Better precision means the alerts you receive are ones worth acting on. And on-device operation means the same AI capability is still available in environments where cloud connectivity is restricted.
“We constantly strive to improve DA Drive Analyzer with each new version to give our users ultimate peace of mind,” said Joseph Chen, CEO of ULINK Technology. “By boosting both precision and recall—especially on SATA HDDs—we are making proactive data protection more accurate, and accessible even in offline, high-security environments.”
Who Benefits
DA Drive Analyzer monitors drive health across more than 99% of commercial drive models including SATA, NVMe, and SCSI/SAS drives. The updated AI model applies across all supported platforms: Windows PC, macOS, QNAP NAS, and ASUSTOR NAS.
Current DA Drive Analyzer users utilizing the service with an internet connection (in default or Cloud Mode) will automatically benefit from the upgraded AI model. Users who use the service in an offline-only capacity (in Standalone Mode) can re-install the app with the latest version to upgrade the AI model.
